Taming the Lizard Brain & Dropping the Hot Coal
Hello everyone,
If you’ve followed my work for a while, you might know I occasionally refer to myself as a “world-famous lizard trainer.” It’s a lighthearted title, but the “lizards” in our minds—those primitive, survival-driven parts of our brain—teach us a great deal about human behavior. And one of the most destructive forces that lizard brain can unleash is unchecked anger.
As the Buddha noted, holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
I explored this exact topic in an episode titled Anger’s Grip: A Descent into Darkness. When we let wrath take the wheel, it distorts our judgment, sabotages our professional goals, and completely pulls us out of the flow state.
You can watch the full episode here:
When you learn to quiet the incessant, overcritical demands of the conscious mind and soothe those primitive emotional responses, something remarkable happens. You create room for your unconscious mind to breathe. This is exactly where true intuition lives.
Sharpen Your Intuitive Edge
To perform at elite levels, you must be able to trust that inner wisdom. If you’re ready to bypass the noise and tap into the profound capabilities of your unconscious mind, I highly recommend picking up my book, The Intuitive Mind.
It is a practical guide designed to help you unlock hidden talents, make faster, more accurate decisions in the moment, and consistently access the flow states that drive massive results.
